Microsoft Azure · Cloud architecture consulting

Azure platforms that survive contact with production.

Emerald Quant designs, builds and hands over Microsoft Azure estates — landing zones, networking, identity, infrastructure as code and cost control — for teams who have to run them long after we've gone.

What we build

Six things we're asked for, over and over.

We don't sell transformation programmes. We take one part of your Azure estate, make it defensible, and leave the source behind so your engineers can change it without us.

/platform/landing-zones

Landing zones

Management group hierarchy, subscription topology and policy baselines that still hold once you're past the first ten workloads.

/network/hub-spoke

Network & connectivity

Hub-and-spoke VNets, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall and private endpoints. Traffic paths your team can draw on a whiteboard from memory.

/identity/entra-id

Identity & access

Entra ID tenancy, conditional access, PIM and workload identities. Least privilege that people can actually work inside.

/iac/bicep-terraform

Infrastructure as code

Bicep and Terraform modules, environment promotion and deployment pipelines. Every resource in the estate traces back to a file.

/migrate/assess-and-move

Migration

Assessment, wave planning and cutover for VMware estates, on-prem SQL and legacy .NET applications — including the ones nobody documented.

/cost/finops

FinOps & cost control

Tagging standards, budgets, reservations and rightsizing. We publish the spend before and after, on the same chart.

The quant part

We score your estate before we touch it.

Every engagement opens with a read-only assessment against the five pillars of the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework. You get a number per pillar, the evidence behind it, and the number we commit to reaching at handover.

How we work

Four phases. Fixed scope at each one.

You can stop after any phase and keep everything produced in it — the assessment, the design records, the code. Nothing is held back to secure the next stage.

Weeks 1–2 · Assess

Read your tenant

Read-only access, nothing changed. We map what exists, score it against the five pillars, and price the gap.

Weeks 3–5 · Design

Draw the target

Target architecture and decision records, reviewed line by line with your engineers before a single resource is deployed.

Weeks 6–17 · Build

Land it in code

We build alongside your team in your repositories. Pull requests, not slide decks. You review and merge everything.

Final 2 weeks · Hand over

Then we leave

Runbooks, dashboards and a working session with every on-call rota. Thirty days of support, then the platform is yours.

Outcomes

Numbers our clients can verify in their own portal.

£1.4m

Annual Azure spend removed across the last twelve engagements.

20+

Landing zones designed and delivered since 2019.

99.98%

Platform availability across estates we handed over last year.

11 days

Median time from signed scope to first deployed environment.
